Normally the apartments in Qingdao can be rented for the term of 1 year or more than that. By signing a long term rental contract, both you and the landlord are agreeing the long term occupancy. It’s possible to get short term rental ,that means less than 12 months, but the rent will be much higher.
 
Please carefully check the rental contract before sign it, that’s very important as it is the legal document, and you should have one copy of the contract and the ID copy of the landlord.
